Welcome to the tradition and the future of dance in northeast Georgia—Gainesville ballet company

The ballet company for Northeast Georgia!

Text Box: The Gainesville Ballet Company is a non-profit ballet company dedicated to promoting the appreciation, study, and performance of dance as an art form to as wide and diverse an audience as possible. Each December it presents “The Nutcracker” and every March an annual storybook ballet. The Company’s “Dance Discovery” program provides community outreach to well over 5,000 children in Northeast Georgia through its matinees designed especially for school-aged children, dance classes for the Boys and Girls Club, a bi-annual Coloring Contest, and lecture-demonstrations for schools, nursing homes, civic groups and churches.
The Company was founded in 1974 by Artistic Director Diane Callahan and is comprised of Gainesville School of Ballet students, select Brenau University dance majors and professional dancers. It has been a training ground for many aspiring dancers. As a Company, striving for excellence, GBC provides all its dancers with the opportunity to expand their technique, desire and expression through classes, rehearsals, and performances.
