The relationship between the Gainesville Ballet Company, the Gainesville School of Ballet, and Brenau University spans over thirty-five years. The tremendous volunteer efforts of dedicated individuals, small businesses, and corporations allow the Company to reach more than 6,000 children and 2,000 adults from 22 different counties across the state of Georgia and beyond. The Board of Directors, staff, and faculty are honored to bring quality dance to Northeast Georgia, and to continue to be recognized as a leading arts organization within the state of Georgia. Dancers at GBC continue to train under Ms. Diane Callahan, the Founding Artistic Director.
In the Works
Every year GBC brings new performances from talented choreographers and guest dancers to the stage to enrich the theatrical experience of dance enthusiasts. This year is no exception. Company One and Apprentice to Company One artists are celebrating the Company’s 38th anniversary year with preparations for a March 2012 premier of many original works as well as reprisals of some of the most popular Company works.
Students may audition for the Junior Company at the age of 10. Many who start with the Junior Company will go on to become Apprentices to Company I and Company I dancers with the Gainesville Ballet Company.
