Christina Castro-Tauser, Junior Company Director
CHRISTINA received her B.A. in
Dance with a concentration in ballet at Point Park University
Pittsburgh, PA where she was also a member of the Alpha Chi National
Scholarship Society. After graduation, Christina danced with Colorado
Ballet Apprentices, Speaking of Dance Modern Dance Company in Denver,
Expansions Contemporary Ballet, and the Pittsburgh Playhouse Dance
Theater Company where she performed lead roles in Night before
Christmas, Paquita, Cinderella, Graduation Ball, and Don Quixote.
Most recently, she taught ballet, pointe, and jazz
at the Breck School in Minnesota where she staged Coppelia, parts of,
The Nutcracker, the fairy variations from Act III of Sleeping Beauty, as
well as several contemporary ballets. She has choreographed dance
segments for Three-penny Opera, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream
Coat, Into the Woods, Oklahoma!, Secret Garden, and Damn Yankees. She
also danced in Napoli with Ballet Classical of Havana, Cuba and with
Ballet Arts Minnesota/ Minnesota Dance theater school and Martha Marr
School of Ballet / Miami Ballet Jr. Company. Christina is excited to
serve her third year with the Gainesville Ballet Company as its Junior
Company Director.
