Text Box: Amy Orr received her primary training from the Augusta Ballet. Amy earned her B.S. in Education at the University of Georgia and her M.F.A. in Dance at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro where she was also on the faculty for two years. She received a scholarship with the American Dance Festival and studied summers with the American Ballet Theatre, the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, the Cunningham Studio, and the Limon Studio. She also danced with the Prime Movers Dance Company in North Carolina, Ruth Mitchell Dance Theatre, Atlanta Festival Ballet, and Southern Ballet Theatre. Amy has danced lead roles in Giselle, Romeo & Juliet, Coppella, Cinderella, and Sleeping Beauty, as well as, a variety of jazz and modern pieces including works by Stanley Zompakos, Doris Humphrey, and Fredic Franklin. Amy has choreographed several story ballets including Southern Ballet Theatre’s premiere of the Wizard of Oz. Text Box: She is well known for her humorous and offbeat works like Down, Glotion in Motion, Paper or Plastic?, and Kiss my Grits. 
    Her choreography has been chosen for the Emerging Choreographer’s Program in 2001, the Gala Program in 2003, the Festival Program in 2004 & 2005 of Regional Dance America-Southeast (RDA/SERBA).

Jolie Long

Text Box: A Virginia native, Jolie is an Associate Professor of Dance at Brenau University and Director of Brenau Dance Ensemble. She holds a B.A. in dance from Mary Washington College and an M.F.A. in Choreography and Performance from Florida State University. She has taught for Gainesville School of Ballet and is a faculty member for the Virginia Governor’s School for the Visual and Performing Arts at the University of Richmond.  She has been performing in Nutcracker as the Arabian dancer for seven seasons.
Text Box: Vincas is a Professor of Dance, Chair of the Performing Arts Department and Director of Dance  at Brenau University.  He directs and choreographs Bighouse  Dance Theatre, Gainesville’s contemporary dance company. He has danced in several companies including the Carl Ratcliff Dance Theater, Susan Eldrige’s Red Clay, Pat Catterson, and Erin Matthiessen. He is pleased to be in his eighth season as guest performer with GBC.

Jonah Hooper

Text Box: A native of Blue Ridge , Georgia , Jonah began dancing at age twelve under the direction of Diane Callahan. After graduating he spent two years with the Louisville Ballet before he returned to Georgia and joined Atlanta Ballet. Jonah just finished his eleventh season with the Atlanta Ballet. During his time there he appeared as Quasimodo in Michael Pink's The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Renfield in Dracula, Sharpless in Stanton Welch's Madame Butterfly, and Jay Gatsby in John McFall & Lauri Stallings' The Great Gatsby. Most recently, Jonah appeared as Romeo in Michael Pink’s Romeo and Juliet and Stallings’ Big project. He would like to thank Gainesville Ballet for their longtime support and for the opportunity to perform and teach with their students. He lives with his wife Maria and son Austin in Decatur with a second child arriving in June.

Kristine Necessary

Text Box: An Atlanta native, Kristine began her serious dance training at Atlanta Ballet's Centre for Dance Education. She furthered her dance education by spending summers at distinguished schools such as the School of American Ballet, Boston Ballet, and Chautauqua Ballet. With Atlanta Ballet, Kristine has performed principal roles in John McFall's Swan Lake, Atlanta Ballet's Nutcracker, Ben Stevenson's Esmeralda pas de deux, and George Balanchine's Allegro Brillante. Her recent favorite roles include Aurora in Sleeping Beauty, Giselle in Giselle, and the Liberty Bell in Stars and Stripes. Kristine is currently a senior inching towards an undergraduate degree at George State University. She is extremely grateful for her family and friends continued love and support.
Text Box: Tiffany is a graduate of the Alabama School of Fine Arts, where she studied under Dame Sonia Arova and Thor Sutowski. She was also a student at the School of American Ballet (the official school of the New York City Ballet) as well as The Alvin Ailey American Dance Center.  She attended the University of Alabama and The Harvard Summer Dance Program under full dance scholarships. Mrs. Swan has performed in Oklahoma and West Side Story with community theatres, and was a former resident guest artist with the Southeast Alabama Dance Company performing in Slaughter on Tenth Avenue, Texas Canyons, and Nicolas Pacana’s Beauty and the Beast.  Mr. Pacana then invited her to join his company Atlanta Festival Ballet, where she performed soloist roles which included Dew Drop Fairy, Snow Queen, and Winter Fairy (Sugar Plum Fairy Variation) in The Nutcracker and Lilac Fairy in Sleeping Beauty.  Tiffany has also danced the Arabian in The Nutcracker and Big Swan in Swan Lake, as well dancing principal roles in Gregory Aaron’s An Artist’s Life and Nicolas Pacana’s Symphony in C.  Mrs. Swan is currently the Assistant Artistic Director and Resident Guest Artist with the Southeast Alabama Dance Company in Dothan, AL, and is married to the much sought-after freelance dancer and partner Peter Swan.
