JENNIFER V. has studied ballet, jazz, modern, pointe and tap for sixteen years at the Lawrenceville School of Ballet under the direction of Phyllis Allen. As a seven-year member of its company, Southern Ballet Theatre, Jennifer was privileged to attend six Southeastern Regional Ballet Association festivals. In high school, she was a member of North Gwinnett High’s dance company, where she performed the lead role of “Clara” as both a junior and a senior in the high school’s Nutcracker. A freshman dance major at Brenau University on both an academic and dance scholarship, this is Jennifer's first season with the Gainesville Ballet Company.

KATHRYN A. is currently a senior honor roll student at White County High School. She has been training with the Gainesville School of Ballet for fourteen years and has attended several summer intensives at the Metropolitan School of Ballet in Atlanta. Kathryn is an active member of the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection. Her hobbies include golf, fishing, and painting. She has previously won the American Legion Veterans Day art award. Her high school activities have also included FBLA, FCA, & FFA. Kathryn performed the role of the Chinese soloist in this season’s Nutcracker. She is very excited to be in her third season with the Gainesville Ballet Company.

Jessica S. has studied with the Gainesville School of Ballet for twelve years. She has attended summer intensive programs with the Atlanta Ballet at Milledgeville and the Atlanta Ballet at Western Carolina University. In last spring’s The Brown Velveteen Rabbit she portrayed “The Mother”. Jessica is a senior honor student at North Hall High School. Most recently, she was accepted into the Honors Mentorship Program to study pharmacy and has received a variety of awards, which include the Gold and Silver awards in the North Hall High School Renaissance Program. She is currently a member of the Senior Beta Club and the Health Occupations Students of America Club. In this year’s Nutcracker, Jessica was a demi-soloist in The Spirit of Christmas and Waltz of the Flowers and the soloist in Spanish. This is Jessica’s fourth season with the Gainesville Ballet Company. |

LAURA V. has been training with the Gainesville School of Ballet for thirteen years. She has performed the roles of “The Rabbit” in The Brown Velveteen Rabbit, and Spanish soloist in The Nutcracker. She is a sophomore honor student at Gainesville High School where she maintains an all “A” average. She is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Key Club. Along with dance, she shares a passion for mission work and has been able to serve in Mississippi, West Virginia and most recently at the Bowery Mission in New York City. In this season’s Nutcracker, Laura will fulfill a long held dream and perform the role of the “Arabian Dancer”. Laura is in her second season with the Gainesville Ballet Company and is thrilled to have the opportunity to dance with such a wonderful company.

MADELEINE B. has been studying ballet for fourteen years and is excited to be a freshman Dance Performance Major at Brenau University on academic and dance scholarships. Her previous training was at the Minnesota Conservatory for the Arts, North Atlanta Dance Academy, and Longmont Dance Theatre (Colorado). Madeleine has participated in many summer programs, including the American Ballet Theatre’s intensive in Detroit. She has been featured in many principal roles in modern and jazz pieces along with such roles as “Snow Queen” and “Arabian” in The Nutcracker. In addition to dance performances, Madeleine has been in several musicals. In high school, she was the editor of the school’s Environmental Club magazine, and graduated as a Post Secondary Enrollment option student with 51 college hours. This is Madeleine’s first year with the Gainesville Ballet Company.

HANNAH P. is a principal dancer with the Gainesville Ballet Company and has trained with the Gainesville School of Ballet for fourteen years. In addition to performing leads in some of the company’s contemporary works, Hannah has performed the roles of “Clara”, “The Russian Girl”, and the “Snow Queen” in The Nutcracker; the “Littlest Princess” in Twelve Dancing Princesses, and the “Little Girl” in The Brown Velveteen Rabbit. She has attended summer intensives at Atlanta Ballet- Western Carolina and South Carolina Summer Dance Conservatory. Hannah is in her third year as a volunteer ballet outreach teacher for the Boys and Girls Club. She is a senior honor student at North Hall High and a member of the Spanish Club, the Senior Beta Club, and the National Honor Society. She is also an editor of her school's newspaper. In this season’s Nutcracker, Hannah performed as a “Skater” in Skater Trio and danced the coveted role of the “Sugar Plum Fairy” with guest artist McCree O’Kelley. This is Hannah’s fourth season with the Gainesville Ballet Company.
