Garden Party Conquers the Elements and Delivers a Wonderful Afternoon of Dance
On Mother’s Day, May 10th, 2009 an enthusiastic crowd enjoyed music and dance in the beautiful Brenau College Amphitheater. Strolling among the displays of art from local artists, they placed bids on items offered |

for sale in the Gainesville Ballet Company silent auction while enjoying music provided by a group from the Northwinds Orchestra and local pianist Carlene Archer. |

Company One, Apprentice and Junior Company dancers reprised repertory pieces from this year’s Spring Concert. Additionally, two new pas de deux were performed. Peter Swan, the company’s principal male dancer, choreographed and performed Unduler with Nikki Bybee, Assistant Professor of Dance at Brenau University. The second new pas de deux, In Harmony, showcased our outgoing dancers Michelle Santana and Derrick Smith. It was choreographed by Christina Castro-Tauser, the GBC junior company director. The afternoon was extremely successful and enjoyed by all. |
